Canadian Firearm Safety Course

The Canadian Firearms Safety Course is a federal course in safe firearms handling for non-restricted firearms (non-restricted firearms are the rifles and shotguns that you would normally use for hunting). The course teaches basic skills in the safe handling of these firearms. Although it is not mandatory to take the course prior to challenging the test it is often to the benefit of the candidate to take the course, especially if the candidate has limited experience with firearms. A student handbook can be obtained from Mr. Rudderham (613-346-1289) for this course at a cost of $15.00

Once you have looked at the available course dates and have selected a course date (which is not marked full) the next step is to contact Mr Rudderham at (613-346-1289) and register for the course date you have selected. (It is recommended that you also chose an alternate date in case the one you have selected has recently been filled).

Ontario Hunter Education Course

The Ontario Hunter Education Course is a provincial course for Ontario residents who wish to get an Ontario Hunting version Outdoors Card and thereby be eligible to purchase an Ontario residents hunting license. To be eligible to take the Ontario Hunter Education Course and test you must reside in Ontario for at least 6 months. The Ontario Hunter Education test can not normally be taken without first completing the course. (There are exceptions for a new resident of Ontario who has had a hunting license issued in another jurisdiction and can provide proof. Those persons can attempt to challenge the Ontario Hunter Education Test one time only without taking the course) A student handbook can be obtained from Mr Rudderham (613-346-1290) for this course at a cost of $15.00

Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course

The Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course is run periodically. This course covers the safe handling of Restricted firearms. More information on this course can be obtained by contacting Mr Rudderham at 613-346-1289. Normally this course is given on weekends.
